We have thought long and hard. Finally, after considering and visiting various schools over a period of 1.5 months, we have finally decided to move Joseph to a new childcare centre with effect from Jan 2009. We were concerned about whether he can adapt to 2 new environments in two years (k2 and then again in P1). We prayed about it, and now have peace to go ahead. We spoke to Joejoe, told him the pros and cons. He seems enthusiastic but then I wonder if it's because he doesn't understand what "changing school" means. He is probably excited about the weekly swimming lessons in the new school. We brought him to the new school to visit, he fitted in very well. Running around, talking to the teachers and classmates. He looked so at home, totally not like it was the first time he's been there. I guess that's what you get when your child is childcare trained. :)
We want him to have a good and memorable K2 to remember. One with activities that will gear him up for proper school in one year's time. The culture (profile of students and christian education emphasis) is pretty similar, and that should ease him into the new environment. So, yup.
Thank God for helping us through to make this decision. It's sad to leave Agapeland. It's been a wonderful time seeing our kids grow up there since they were toddlers in Playgroup! It's gonna take some getting used to, not having to drive through Lornie Road each day (can't believe I'm actually gonna miss that!) and not seeing my kids in their Agapeland uniforms. We'll definitely miss the touch of the dedicated teachers who've shown our little ones Christ-likeness and the abundant love.
So this year's graduation concert should be an emotional one - at least for my family. To see Megan march down the aisle in her graduation gown and mortar board, and to see Joejoe performing with his Agapeland classmates...
