One week ago Megan woke us up to tell us that she has decided to "put holes" in her ears because she wants to wear earrings. We contemplated that for sometime. I had always wanted her to pierce her ears but Alan wasn't ready for our little girl to have pierced ears so soon :) But today he finally decided that he was ready (although he still didn't have the guts to watch the procedure)!
So we brought Grandma and Yiyi and went to B'dazzle at Wisma. After choosing our ear studs, the lady used a marker to mark the spots on her ears. Then they took this little contraption that looks like a square stapler with the stud lodged on and each lady took a earlobe and pressed. Gosh! So fast, it's over! A world of difference from grandma's days where they used a needle and sterilised it over a flame (horrors!!!) or my days where they used that "gun-like" contraption which probably caused more fear than the procedure itself!
All of us were taken by surprise that it was over so soon! Meg looked at herself in the mirror, smiled and said, "I like it." We like it too! She then ran to Daddy to show him her ears and Daddy was just as surprised that it was all over! Gave her the usual giant hug and kept telling her how nice she looks.
She later told me that it was a little painful but "I'm a brave girl!" Yeah! The earlobes looked a little red for the next hour and now they're as good as new. And guess what we'll be getting her for Christmas? :) Her first real pair of earrings! :)

What can I say!? Megan looks very pretty and chic with her new ear-rings. For her to ask for it tells me the beautiful feminine side of her expressed at such a tender age. So Daddy Alan be glad - and thank heaven for your little gal! And also for Joe2!! He is such a boy - brave and fearless and a roach killer!!! [Yes I heard from Sally about his latest feat!]
