Ps Bea with Megan, Joejoe and Justin :)Today's Ps Bea's Birthday, so today's post will be about her :)
Alan and I have always been thankful that she's our Pastor.
(In a church as big as ours, it's an extraordinary thing to feel so connected to any pastor)
We remember the first time we met her. We had just returned from Perth and had just
decided to make TCC our home church. We wanted to attend a cell but didn't know which,
so we popped by church office one afternoon. As we were making enquiries at the reception, she stepped out of office to go to the washroom and in her usual friendly way invited us to attend a cell in her district (haha... without even asking where we stayed!). That was the first encounter with this petite~powerful lady of God.
Today, she's a major part of our family. Our kids are crazy about her, always popping by
her office for no reason, just to give and get a "big big kiss and a big big hug". They love to tell
her things, show her things and of course, perform their latest antics just to hear her gush! haha. In fact, we think there are certain character traits of Megan that are a little like her! (If you haven't heard Pbea talk about her childhood stories, ask her!)
Next to God, we believe she's probably the other person who played a big role in our marriage.
All those times she'd spent counselling, listening, reprimanding, changing, advising us! Gosh, have we kept her busy!! haha... I remember the nite 7 years ago when my parents-in-law told us we've got to breakup. She was the first person we called, in the middle of the nite, and without a word, she met us at Denny's (the already non-existent 24hr restaurant at Holl V) and we talked and talked and talked.
She hears from God in her showers for us! haha... that was how God spoke to her to tell Alan to submit his application to work in CCSS (she heard this before we spoke to her about our intention!).
Through her life, we see what's important in the kingdom of God. What it means to serve Him with excellence. Why some things which are important in the eyes of men should really be seen as mundane when we fix our eyes on God. Through her love acted out, we know why CCSS is her heartbeat and how great is it to be labouring with her.
So we just wanna say how blessed we are to call her our pastor. Our very own Pastor Bea, happy birthday!

Wow what can I say? Sally told me to read the family blog because she said they wrote something about me. Just reading it brings back wonderful memories of God's goodness and faithfulness.
Yes I love Meg and Joe2. They remind me of why I do what I do - both in life and ministry. It is not about a vocation and passion alone but it is about preparing for the next generation and the generations to come. In other words I do not want Meg and Joe2 and many others [like my nieces and nephews] to grow up and not know God and have a personal relationship with Him. To know all that He has done and for who He is -and will always be.
