The word that sends some of us into frenzy. :) I love sales. And would mindfully not buy stuff until they go on sale. And that's probably because we used to buy stuff, only to find them going on sale in a couple of weeks. Very frustrating when that happens!
Last sat, we decided to make our way to Expo. Guess what? We went there, thinking of visiting the Harvey Norman sale to get a new hand vac (our trusty little one is breathing its last few breaths). But when we got there, we realised the Crocs sale was on, the MPH sale was there too, and the Singapore Food Fest too! Gosh, I could hardly breathe! haha...
We saw a beeline waiting to get into the Crocs sale, so we made our way to the Food Fest first. Boy, was it crowded! But quite worth it! Thank God we no longer have strollers and big bags. The kids had fun taking samples on toothpicks and chomping on yummy bite-sized food. We got quite a bit of good finds too! Of course, we got our family treat - Bak Kwa! Yumz!
Then we went back to the Crocs sale. The line seemed shorter, and so we happily joined the queue. That was about 1:20pm. Right after we joined the queue, it started moving and we entered a hall, expecting to see mountains of clogs! But we were soooo wrong! It led us to a big hall with multiple lines of queues! There were kids running, crying and fussing. There were aunties talking loudly, uncles looking sooo bored. We asked the sales staff if we could pay by nets, he said yes. Is it worth it? He said items up to 70%. Ok, we waited. And waited. And waited!!! We waited for 1.5hours! After half an hour, we just told ourselves that we were past the point of no return.. haha... Thank God the kids were wonderful. They entertained themselves, ran and played with other kids... Soon, we left the humid and stuffy hall, and entered Hall 4A!
Woah, that was the sale! Some people really scared us with the amount of clogs and clothes they took. Bags and bags! Believe it or not, we spent nearly 3 hours there. But that's not it! We had to queue another 1 hour just to pay! haha... At least it was worth it. Each pair of crocs cost $20 (adults and kids alike). Crocs apparel (which was not sold at retail shops) were going 3 pieces for $9! Fantastic stuff! So we managed to grab for ourselves and for christmas presents. (For those of you reading this and if you get a gift from us that says Crocs, yup, we got it at the sale! :P )
Here's a pic of a portion of the pp at the sale.
After our three big bags of loot, we decided it was time for dinner. After dinner, we decided to visit the Cristofori sale not far from Expo. And yup, we got ourselves a nice 2nd hand piano, for Megan and Daddy. Something we've been saving up for - finally we got it. The good thing about it is that we are entitled to get back 60% of price we bought it at if we sell it back to Cristofori within 2 years. That's a pretty good deal. :)
That's not it!
On Sunday, after watching Madagascar2 with our buddies The Kongs, we visited the SingTel Christmas fair at Suntec. Another place filled with people and things. Our broadband is due for an upgrade and we were looking for a good deal. While Alan went around to check things out, I found a corner and sat down while Joseph zzz in my arms (I miss that!)and Megan read a magazine next to me. It sounds funny, but I had fun, just sitting there people-watching, and yakking with Megan.
And this is me taking a pic of myself with my hp. haha. Try and ignore those dark eye rings k. :P
Oh well. It was a crazy but really fun weekend. :)
