6 Candles

We celebrated Joseph's 6th birthday over last weekend. The usual would be to have a class celebration - which we had. And this year, being the last of his preschool years, we also threw a birthday party. Sidenote: Our family's practice so far is to let our kids take turns to have a party every year. This year was Joseph's turn. He'd been looking forward to it for the longest time. And finally it's his turn!

For his school/class celebration, we ordered from Smiling Orchid their "Animal Safari" cake. It was such an exciting cake to look at. Complete with little animal toys, a bridge, a waterfall, and lots of rocks, trees and grass, it was also very yummy! Just to prove that, the 1kg cake was gone in minutes! :D
We love cakes from Smiling Orchid, and have lost count of the number of cakes we've ordered from them. They're always done with such careful and skillful details, the kids (and adults!) are already happy looking at their cake. It's a bonus that the cakes are really yummy too. If you can't find the design you want in their cake catalogue, just bring your own toys, describe to them what you have in mind, and they can do it up too! :)

And on Sunday, we invited a close group of family and friends over to Kids Amaze @ TPY Safra for an exclusive few hours of playtime. The kids went crazy in the two-tiered indoor playgym while we, the adults, could catch up over dinner. And this time, we got a Bumblebee cake. It looked very good, every bit like it was in the catalogue. But I'd ordered it with chocolate sponge and chocolate crunchies. Sad to say, there was nothing crunchy in the cake! Oh well. It still made our little boy's day. And made him the envy of the many boys who also loved Transformers.

Happy Birthday my son! :)
