It's finally been announced...

After 3 years and 2 months of serving God full-time in CCSS, my dear husband is leaving. This has been the hardest decision, but one that has been made after much prayer, counsel, heartache and learning to do what's right. The journey has been challenging. One that brought us closer to God and to each other. Alan has ministered to countless of youths, couples, families, staff in MNCs, sponsors, donors, volunteers, fellow colleagues and to me. We saw his heart pumping to the heartbeat of God as he strived to make everyday a little more manageable to the less fortunate. We witnessed his struggles when his hands are tied, his dreams squashed, his integrity judged - and yet, he would pull himself through, all for this word - Calling.

Many will not understand our decision, they may even misunderstand us, mock us, laugh at our lack of tenacity or say out loud our lack of faith. We have a standard answer to explain all the "why"s. But only the two of us, and the Lord of our lives truly know the reasons, and maybe a selected few closer friends. When He gives the green light, our pastor releases us with her understanding and blessings, our mentors affirm our decision after months of prayer, no one can tell us not to go ahead with this.

Even his next job was landed on us without us having to do anything. The pay package is enough to cover my part of the pay that will be lost by going part-time, and a little more too... In this day and age with the negative outlook on the economy, I see this as nothing short of God's favour!

It will be another adaptation for us as a couple, to not work together :) After finally getting used to each other's styles and temperament in the office. I will miss having lunch with my best friend. Lots to get used to all over again too... But yeah, I'm sure we're strong enough. :)

So do us a favour. Do not wonder if we are backsliding. We are just embracing a new season - this IS the year of new beginnings, remember? :)

All I can say is AMEN & Amen! Coz even I am experiencing God in a whole new dimension myself!

I have been forced to walk by faith & not by sight!

JIA YOU JIA YOU! :P
