A curry appetite

One of the best things about being pregnant for both the first two times and this one has been the ability to eat spicy food. I actually have craving for curry! My intake of spicy food has been really limited all my life. But now, the thought of lemak, thick curry makes me happy! haha...

On Tuesday, we celebrated Alan's birthday. We had Megan with us for the first half of the day
and after we dropped her in school, we decided to go for a meal we hadn't tried before. We had our gynae's appointment at Gleneagles later in the afternoon, so we decided to drop by Samy's Curry at Dempsey.

As mentioned, because this was our first time there, we didn't know what to order or exactly what was what on the menu. The waiters were really friendly and helpful. Pretty high tech too, they all carried palms and once we placed our orders, they sent them directly to the kitchen from these little gadgets.

I love Dhal (since Aussie days) and was uber happy that it was served freeflow, together with bryani rice complete with fish/chicken curry gravy and papadum. We ordered the recommended Masala Chicken, Fish Cutlet, Chicken Tikka and a vegetable dish with mushroom and peas. I wasn't too confident in my spicyness intake still, so I ordered Mango Lassi and Alan had his trusty lime juice. :)

The food was all really flavourful, authentic and yummy. Especially the papadum and dhal! And yes, it did get too hot for me. But no complaints. The Birthday Boy enjoyed his food thoroughly, made even better with great company! haha... :)

Well, another pleasant surprise for Daddy the birthday boy. We'll be having a baby gal! :D
Dr Tham's not 100% happy as Baby was kinda busy turning and squirming so he had a bit of difficulty looking clearly at that strategic position. haha.. We'll know for sure at next visit!
